Engineering Technician

As an Engineering Technician (Mechanical/Electrical), you will:
Provide technical expertise for the areas of energy and environmental metering, energy efficiency, conservation acquisition, and end-use electrical loads. Make critical analyses and evaluations of the ramifications and advisability of the data metering equipment, collection, and distribution to support EE programs designed to deliver conservation acquisition to the region and/or large engineering projects such as modification of facilities or systems to meet new performance requirements. Discuss or consults with both internal and external planners, evaluators, and engineers or other subject matter experts on technological trends and innovations. Fulfill a variety of roles and will alternately act as a researcher, project manager, planner, customer service representative, marketer and promoter of products and services, problem solver, and technical consultant covering a variety of Energy Efficiency related initiatives, issues and technologies. Provide a range of technical services in support of Energy Efficiency and Conservation Acquisition programs, Program Marketing, Planning and Evaluation, and Contract Administration functions. Design or direct the development of energy efficiency technologies, equipment, or systems to meet specific mission objectives associated with energy efficiency and conservation acquisition. Conduct workshops, presentations, briefings on technical topics and educational initiatives both internal and external to BPA. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
For GS-11 A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
1) collecting and analyzing routine engineering data and assisting higher graded employees with more complex data collection; AND 2) providing project management support of routine metering equipment deployment and analysis of energy efficiency technologies, including but not limited to HVAC systems, lighting systems projects, pumps and motors. For GS-12 A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
1) collecting and analyzing routine and complex engineering data; AND 2) providing project management of complex metering equipment deployment or analysis of energy efficiency technologies, including but not limited to HVAC systems, lighting systems projects, pumps and motors. There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-11 or GS-12 level. Your resume should demonstrate that you possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies (KSACs). Electrical Engineering - Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, and methods related to the design, analysis, test, and integration of electrical systems; energy conversion; electrical power generation; and energy transmission, control, distribution or use. Influencing and Negotiating - Persuades others to accept recommendations, cooperate, or change their behavior; works with others towards an agreement; negotiates to find mutually acceptable solutions. Mechanical Engineering - Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, and methods related to planning, designing, developing, testing, or evaluating thermodynamic, mechanical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or structural equipment, systems, models, tools, or specialized mechanical devices. Project Management - Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include:
volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.You must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
