Physician (Emergency Department)

The Provider has responsibilities for the evaluation, care, and disposition of patients, ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, determining need for hospitalization or transferring the patient to another facility. Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provides coverage for inpatient wards Takes calls on medicine patients in-house (inpatient, acute) and Community Living Center (CLC) Manages emergencies and writing admission orders and completes required paperwork Manges transfers into and out of the facility Coordinates hand off communication after hours Participates in , and at times leads, clinical and education administrative committees, tasks groups, or special projects Responds to urgent calls throughout campus Work Schedule:
Flexible hours and shifts equaling 80 hours per 2 week pay period to include weekends, days, and nights. Will be negotiated during onboarding. Financial Disclosure Report:

United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education:
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Licensure & Registration:
Physicians must possess a current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. The physician must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure. Residency Training:
Physicians must have completed residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. English Language Proficiency:
Physicians appointed to direct patient-care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d). Reference:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
