Summary of Duties:
The Personnel Program Assistant is part of the College of Nursing Administrative Services team.
The primary responsibility of this important administrative support position is to contribute to the seamless execution of personnel/employment processes for the College of Nursing (CoN), Spokane campus.
They will work closely with the Personnel Officer and the Director of Administrative Services.
The Personnel Program Assistant will engage with and be exposed to human resource and business operation functions.
Typical work includes, but is not limited to:
monitoring recruitment processes to aid in timely and positive recruitment experiences for applicants, hiring managers and search committees; recruiting and tracking hourly and temporary staff appointments, such as standardized patients; initiating and tracking background checks for all employees; verifying employment authorization by processing I-9's; confidentially maintaining the CoN personnel files and documentation; serve as a resource, pointing employees and supervisors to appropriate policies and documents.
They will learn and work within WSU's human capital management system, Workday.
This position will communicate with various department leaders and support staff within the College of Nursing to assist them in performing their administrative, recruiting, onboarding and performance management responsibilities by helping them track various processes.

Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience.
Additional Requirements:
Experience with employee, student or related administrative functions that required working with confidential or sensitive information.
Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated experience utilizing MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
) Intermediate to advanced Excel and Word skills.
Demonstrated experience maintaining records accurately and confidentially.
Experience with or ability and willingness to learn multiple data management systems such as learning management systems, customer relationship management systems, or similar platforms.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Two years demonstrated experience in personnel related administrative functions or related equivalent education/experience.
Demonstrated experience working with confidential and/or sensitive information.
Previous experience working in a higher education and/or health care setting.
Knowledge of academic processes in higher education.
Experience utilizing Workday or other enterprise Human Resources system.
Experience with Percipio.
Familiarity with State of WA and WSU policies and procedures for recruitment and personnel processing.
Experience working with a diverse clientele.
Knowledge of employment laws.
