Summary of Duties:
The Research Intern will perform investigative and laboratory work in support of research on rodent models of behavior and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Responsible for:
supervising, breeding, and caring of rodents.
Working on research projects to study behavior of wild type and transgenic mice.
Work performed includes conducting experiments; collecting and analyzing samples; assisting with laboratory operations and maintenance; participating in lab activities such as lab meetings and discussions; and performing related duties as required by the PI.
This is a 1 year fixed appointment from date of hire.
Renewal is dependent on the need for extension to complete the project and/or the procurement of additional funding to extend the appointment.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent related field experience performing professional-level work with scientific or clinical research protocols.
Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Experimental and analytical skills; understanding and knowledge of research theory; interviewing experience; excellent organizational and project management skills.
Additional Requirements:
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to become proficient and comfortable with handling mice.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of Biology or Psychology.
Experience with molecular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR, western blots).
Experience working with animals in a research setting.
