Summary:
Works closely within referral team to ensure work queue is addressed, patients are scheduled timely , and insurance and demographics are updated correctly.
Must be able to work independently.
This is a fill-time, 40 hours per week, position; hours are 8:

Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Verify information with patients making any changes such as address, phone number, insurance and PCP.
Registration of any new patients who have not already pre-registered.
Notify insurance specialist if referral is needed for patient's appointment due to insurance change, walk-in, etc.
Phone referral notes appropriately Organize daily schedule for the next day's patients.
Take co-payments and payments.
Balance ledger at the end of the day and verify amount in cash box.
Schedules or reschedules appointments for patients as needed Attaches all electronic Epic referrals to appointments at PHI Schedules patients from Epic in Basket and Epic Referral Queue daily Schedules all referrals that are sent to PHI via fax or mail for new patients Completes reschedules and cancellations Arranges for interpreting services as needed per protocol (IPAD) Answers incoming phone calls to Pulse Heart Institute's new patient department Able to travel to any of the various Pulse Heart Institute locations Other duties as assigned Epic/EMR helpful Supervisory

Education/
Experience:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months related experience or training required which includes:
knowledge of medical office procedures.
Epic and medical office experience preferred.
An offer of employment is dependent upon a satisfactory background check and receipt of proof of COVID vaccination or Medical/Religious Exemption - per the decree of the Governor of the State of Washington for healthcare workers.
