Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, a mechanical lead responsible for the mechanical engineering aspect of a major project of greater complexity than those normally assigned to mechanical engineers Provide technical supervision to lower level mechanical engineers and other technical personnel, and may be responsible as a technical lead of a multidisciplinary team. Communicate key information and recommendations to educate and influence technical decisions and strategy Define new mechanical engineering design requirements and develop specifications in accordance with manufacturing, customer expectations, and common mechanical requirements Identify and analyze design problems to achieve optimal solutions that satisfy cost and technical requirements using both internal and external technical resources. Formulate new, innovative approaches to solve technical problems on a consistent basis Create and communicate project plans, tasks and deliverables and manage time to meet project deadlines. This includes reporting pertinent information at key milestones through clear and concise oral and written communications Engage in personal and continuing program of learning in order to broaden knowledge in mechanical engineering and to gain knowledge in new fields of general engineering in order to improve the individual effectiveness and to avoid technical obsolescence. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to design / solve engineering problems with minimal assistance Demonstrated ability to decompose complex problems into a logical project schedule Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership for mechanical engineering projects with reasonable complexity and scope Demonstrated ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied functions (i.e. Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, etc.) Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude Proven communication skills and ability to perform within a cross-functional team environment Expert in the use of one or more mechanical engineering design tools, i.e. SolidWorks, Pro-Engineer, or Inventor. Proven experience in linear and non-linear structural analysis, thermal analysis, fluid dynamics, and/or multi-physics simulations Experienced in Tolerance analysis and/or GD&T Ability to drive change initiatives.
Qualifications:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and 8
years of mechanical engineering experience in electronics and enclosure design. M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and 6

Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
